Poor circulation is a common issue associated with diseases such as diabetes. Our own interest in the rebounder increased when Devon was diagnosed with diabetes and was looking for an exercise he could do during cold weather.

Rebounding can be performed at a range of intensities to match your fitness level and workout objective. The light bouncing prevents you from experiencing the hard impact that you would when walking or jogging, and gets every cell moving due to the body having to adapt to what is known as g-force. Poor quality rebounders are more prone to breakage, tearing and warping of the mat and other components, and can increase risk of injury. Needak rebounders are manufactured in the USA by Needak Manufacturing. Needak Manufacturing was founded in 1990 by Robert and Barbara Sanders for the purpose of producing quality rebounders.

The materials used in the main components of the rebounder play an important part in its overall performance and durability.

Springs

The springs of the Needak rebounders are made from high carbon spring music wire. There are two types of springs depending on whether you want a soft bounce or hard bounce.

Needak soft bounce rebounders absorb greater impact and allow for both easy and intense workouts. They can hold up to 300 lbs.

The hard bounce rebounders are stiffer and absorb only 35% of the bounce, allowing for more resistance for more intense workouts. They can hold up to 600 lbs.

The difference in impact absorption is achieved through the spring design. The springs of the soft bounce rebounder are barrel shaped and taper from the center to the outside, while the hard bounce springs are less tapered, making them stiffer.

Mat

The round jumping mat is made from Permatron. Permatron is made of industrial polypropylene woven fabric, one of the recommended materials for mats due to its durability and ability to resist stretching while still remaining flexible. The surface remains flat, without permanent creasing or folding.

It is highly resistant to moisture and is 90% UV resistant. This makes the rebounder suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

Frame

The frames of the Needak rebounders are made of heavy grade steel and are lead free. While square rebounders do exist, round is the most common, and the Needak rebounders are no exception. They are round and measure at 40 inches in diameter.

The folding rebounders also include steel hinges attached to the frame to allow for folding/unfolding.

Legs

Both folding and non folding rebounders have six 8 ½ inch long legs that are made from metal with rubber tips at the end. The legs fold in for storage.

Folding rebounders are just as stable as the non folding ones. However, folding rebounders may incur a lower shipping cost due to its smaller shipping size.

Warranty and Accessories

All Needak rebounders come with a limited lifetime warranty. Parts, accessories, books, and DVDs can also be purchased on their website. Accessories include stabilizing bars, spring covers in various colours, and a carrying bag for the folding rebounders.
